Greenhope Scales Export Market via International Events Series

Indonesian bioplastic technology company Greenhope continues to expand its presence in the global market through active participation in various international events throughout 2025. This move is part of the company’s commitment to introducing environmentally friendly plastic solutions tailored to the needs of each country.

Greenhope CEO Tommy Tjiptadjaja stated that the company not only participates as an attendee, but also takes on strategic roles as a speaker, judge, and exhibitor in several global forums.

“The bioplastic technology we develop is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Greenhope always adapts its solutions to the waste challenges, regulations, and infrastructure of each country,” he said in a written statement on Saturday (10/4).

In May 2025, Greenhope participated as both a panelist and exhibitor at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025, an event that brought together startups, investors, and governments at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. During the forum, the company highlighted the role of bioplastic technology in addressing urban waste challenges while also opening opportunities for research collaboration with Japanese partners.

Greenhope’s international presence continued in August 2025, when Tommy was appointed as a judge at the One ASEAN Startup Award 2025 Pre-Event, part of the Techsauce Global Summit 2025 in Bangkok. The event, organized by ERIA, JETRO, and Depa Thailand, also provided Greenhope with opportunities to explore export partnerships for bioplastic products with local business players.

The peak of Greenhope’s international activities will take place at World Expo 2025 Osaka from September 15–21, 2025. At the event, Greenhope will serve as an exhibitor at the Indonesia Pavilion, appear as a speaker at the Blue Ocean Dome, and deliver presentations at Osaka Springboard. Around 56 eco-friendly products will be showcased, ranging from bioplastics and biodegradable additives to various forms of packaging already used by well-known brands.

Tommy emphasized that every international participation by Greenhope carries a dual mission: expanding export markets and introducing bioplastic innovations relevant to local needs. “We want to show that solutions from Indonesia can be applied globally without overlooking the context and challenges of each country,” he said.

Greenhope is widely recognized as an environmentally friendly technology company that promotes the “Return to Earth” concept, which focuses on the use of biodegradable and bio-based materials to reduce plastic pollution. Its flagship products include Ecoplas, Naturloop, and Oxium, which have been patented in multiple countries.

Ecoplas is a bioplastic made from cassava starch sourced from local partner farmers and is used as an environmentally friendly landfill cover. The product is safer, more economical, and capable of extending landfill lifespan while reducing methane gas emissions. Meanwhile, Naturloop is developed from non-food plant-based materials, and Oxium functions to accelerate plastic degradation into just two to five years without leaving microplastic residues.
