Greenhope Scores High in Fair for Life 2024 Certification: Fair Collaboration Towards a Sustainable Future

Saturday, 23 March 2024

After undergoing a thorough audit process at the end of February 2024, PT Harapan Aktif Swadaya (Greenhope) officially received the latest Fair for Life (FFL) certificate in March 2024. In this certification, Greenhope scored 75.6% and received four out of five leaves, a proud achievement and an improvement compared to the previous certification results.

Strict Audit to Maintain High Standards

The audit was conducted by an independent certification body for three full days, from 27 to 29 February 2024. This audit covered various important aspects of Greenhope's supply chain, from administrative and documentation checks at production facilities, direct observation of factory conditions and the bioplastic resin manufacturing process, to field visits. The audit team visited cassava farmers' gardens in Cikarawang Village to see cultivation practices directly, conduct in-depth interviews with members of the Setia Farmers Group, and review small flour processing units (UKMK) which are part of the initial cassava conversion process.

Not only stopping at the raw material level, the audit also involved a visit to the Ecoplas bioplastic converter, where cassava resin is processed into final products such as eco-friendly bags. This comprehensive audit ensures that the entire process, from farmers to finished products, is carried out in accordance with the principles of social justice, transparency and environmental sustainability that are at the heart of the Fair for Life system.

Four Leaves for Strong Collaboration

The results of the audit were announced two months later, in March 2024. Greenhope received a final score of 75.6% and an award of four out of five leaves, indicating an excellent level of compliance and performance in implementing Fair Trade principles. This is a marked improvement compared to the previous certification and is a reflection of an increasingly solid management system and increasingly strong collaboration in the field.

This achievement is the result of hard work from all parties. The Greenhope team at the management and operational levels has maintained high standards in documentation and production. Farmers in the Setia Farmers Group have demonstrated consistency in implementing sustainable cultivation practices. Meanwhile, the bioplastic converter plays an important role in ensuring the quality and sustainability of the final product production process.

Achievements That Bring New Spirit

This achievement brings new spirit and becomes an important momentum for Greenhope and the Setia Farmers Group to continue moving forward. For farmers, this success is proof that hard work and commitment to a fair system bring real results. For Greenhope, this certification is not just a formality, but a real form of long-term commitment to business practices that support social justice and environmental sustainability.

This achievement also strengthens the confidence of the entire team to continue expanding the positive impact of the Fair for Life program into the future. With this strong foundation, Greenhope hopes to continue to work and innovate with farmers and other partners in building an inclusive and regenerative circular economy, with cassava as the main raw material for environmentally friendly bioplastics.

"These four leaves are a symbol of cooperation that grows from the field, from the hands of farmers to environmentally friendly technology. This is not the end, but a new starting point towards a more just and sustainable future."
